DESCRIPTION

A simple slideshow screensaver for BeOS 4.5 for Intel.

NEW IN THIS VERSION

Fixed bug where files on volumes that do not support mimetypes are shown

INSTALLATION

After unzipping the archive, drag the SlideShowSaver module to;
"/boot/home/config/add-ons/Screen Savers"

Launch the Screen Saver prefernces panel and select SlideShowSaver from the module list.

FEATURES

The "Select Directory", "Select delay", "Randomize" are self explanatory :-)

"Always scaling" when selected will zoom any picture smaller than the screen size to fill it - respecting the aspect ratio.
If a file is larger than the screen it will be shrunk to fit, regardless of the "Always scaling" option.

"Show filename" simply displays the picture's filename in the bottom left of the screen in the currently selected plain font.

BUGS

The only bug we know of is a tiny memory leak :-( However the memory is all released when the screen saver is deactivated.

WHY DOESN'T FILE XXXX DISPLAY?
The SlideShowSaver can only display images that you have a Translator installed for - check the Data Translations preferences panel.
Also ensure that any file has the correct mimetype associated with it. SlideShowSaver will only display files that have the "image/" supertype. Right click the file and select Add-Ons->File Type in the tracker.
NB certain volumes do not support MIME typing (e.g. ISO9660 CDROMS). SlideShowSaver will disable MIME checking on these volumes but this may cause pauses in the image display, as the Translation kit will have to read any file to determine its validity - which can take a long time if it is a large non-image file.
